Scattering Solutions, Inc. is an innovator in developing innovative optical technologies
with vast commercial potential.
Our scientists and engineers
are widely
recognized experts in optics, particle characterization, surface science, software development,
and instrumentation.
We also maintain an active interest in biological and medical
sciences, working closely with our partner,
ANALIZA, Inc.
With initial funding from the National Science Foundation and
National Institutes of Health, Scattering Solutions has developed new
approaches for colloid characterization based on Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) principles,
interface characterization of fluids based on Surface Light Scattering Spectroscopy,
and signal processing based on auto- and cross-correlation techniques.
We work with scientists in academia (e.g., Case Western Reserve University,
NYU, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, University of California,
University at Albany, Alfred University),
at major consumer product companies (e.g, Proctor & Gamble, Akzo Nobel),
at pharmaceutical firms (Elan, Regeneron, Analiza) and
smaller consulting firms (Frequency Science, Canonical Consulting).
Scattering Solutions provides consultation and contract research,
from which we derive many new ideas.
The solution of challenging problems presented to us by the research and manufacturing
communities drives much of our research effort.
Ultimately, the goal is
to commercialize product - bringing new technologies and affordable devices to
assist R&D, resolve manufacturing issues, and provide students, technicians,
scientists and engineers with tools to better understand complex issues in particle
characterization and surface science.
Tangential and innovative applications will emerge that
both expand and open new markets.
